Avarun is a flat world, born as one of the seeds of two beings' founding love. Once its land was a single supercontinent. Now five great continents and scattered islands stand where one connected world existed.
At the heart of its ancient catastrophe stood the Athanor: a machine that imprisoned and used a portion of a Higher Entity as energy. Repeated warnings went unheeded. Divine destruction and curses reshaped both the land and its peoples.
These are the known foundations. The creators' names and fate, their relationship to the later Entity, and the catastrophe's exact mechanism remain unknown. The books below offer fictional interpretations of those gaps.
