# Willowbank Library: Continuity, Source and Audiobook Register
## Eight complete independent books and the local civic archive

**Review date:** 29 October 2026. **Status:** Previously approved Willowbank tales and recommended titles are accepted as an in-world library direction. New long-form narrative details and the moon story are proposed literary additions; none establish an independent cosmological fact. The establishing scene painting and town map were expressly approved as visual reference by the author. Audio narration is part of the publication requirement, not an optional enhancement.

All complete source texts are persisted independently as structured chapter/paragraph manuscripts, used for both reading and audio generation. No story depends on browser-generated speech.

## Chronological dependencies and what is *not* proved

1. **Sundering and the Age of Twin Lanterns (1–118 AS):** Established two moons and associated guiding goddesses in the working record. Do not write new evidence that settles ancient creator truth.
2. **Missing Light (119 AS):** One moon vanishes and one goddess is absent. Death, sacrifice, murder, exile and survival are conflicting claims, not solved by regional moon worship.
3. **War of Severed Crowns (200–267 AS):** Rival religious and political accounts shape later worship and manuscript language. The Riverleague's public moon faith is not the only legitimate religious identity.
4. **Red-Silt Flood (around 355 AS):** Willowbank and marsh fisheries are injured. Mara Fen's measurement story is an original literary account, not a certified public finding.
5. **Unbound Ledger Affair (around 378 AS):** Fraudulent records are investigated across political boundaries. The newer seven-register story makes several linked local inquiries but avoids declaring one culprit responsible for all town mysteries.
6. **Current era near the tentative c.382 AS development window:** Named local council members and Moonwake inspectors are working lore. The main light novel Chapter 1 has not been written and its protagonist's private history may not be used in public story notes.

## The river-face and evidence protocol

**Visible public tradition:** Riverleague worshipers name the surviving moon Lunareth and speak of Nayara, whose face many observers report in the Aven's reflection. **Interpretation:** Some clergy attribute the face to a surviving goddess; skeptics consider physical and perceptual effects; an imprint specialist may examine possible Remanence alignment. Neither an observer nor the archive can prove a divine identity by declaring a striking resemblance.

**Magic constraint:** Moonwake can be described as steadier alignment for some already-prepared, appropriate Accords. The Five Laws remain superior. There is no unlimited energy, universal magic advantage, automatic blessing of wealth, guaranteed business success, or compulsory religious test for legal rights. A report should record vessel condition, the release instruction, clouds, water condition, non-moon comparison and any injury or externalized cost.

**Competing households:** Veyna and Ilyen Osrel have opposed interpretations while keeping a relationship. Brann and Tesa disagree over closing the unsafe lock while sharing a repair duty. Public officials, ferry workers and family members retain agency outside the future MC's story. A fictional trial may return a negative or inconclusive finding.

## Every book must have an independent audiobook

- Full manuscript, not a summary or sample, is read through Kokoro 1.0 ONNX with American-English `af_heart` or `am_michael`.
- Each book has one **complete** MP3 with consistent 24 kHz sample rate, 64 kbps bitrate and two output channels.
- Each MP3 is validated by metadata, size, duration and paragraph count, then preserved to GitHub as an asset. The archive's player uses these stored files; there is no browser `speechSynthesis` substitution.
- `data/willowbank-audio.json` catalogs all eight, with matching `data/willowbank/audio-*.json` reports.
- Pages publication is blocked if a single recording, metadata file, or source is absent. New book editions require new audio validation before release.

## Map and visual approval boundary

The approved **Willowbank local map** and **golden-hour town painting** were generated in this conversation. Their original high-resolution image bytes are not currently bundled in the GitHub repository: a connector capable of binary image-asset upload is required to publish the actual approved files without regenerating or degrading them. Do not claim that the current archive page displays those originals until both verified assets are present on the site. The main approved Oravel geographic map remains authoritative for the location of Willowbank on the continent. The approved Willowbank district labels should be honored in local stories, but the image is not a street-by-street surveyed plan.

## Source attribution and real-world references

- **Approved project sources:** `world/Oravel_Atlas_Guide.md`; `world/Calendar_Timeline.md`; `world/lore/Arts_of_Accord_APPROVED_ORAVEL.md`; `world/Oravel_Canon_Decision_2026-10-29.md`; `world/proposals/Oravel_Lore_Bible_v1_PROPOSED.md` (historical filename; approved regional setting).
- **Original fiction:** All Willowbank characters, invented legal cases, dialogue, folk variants, rites and local institution titles here were written for Avarun. No cited living oral narrator was personally interviewed.
- **Comparative inspiration, not transplanted sacred practice:** UNESCO, *Hudhud Chants of the Ifugao* (Ifugao, Philippines), https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/hudhud-chants-of-the-ifugao-00015 ; UNESCO World Heritage Centre, *Cultural Landscape of Bali Province: Subak System* (Bali, Indonesia), https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1194 ; Rijkswaterstaat, *Our History* (Netherlands), https://www.rijkswaterstaat.nl/en/about-us/our-organisation/our-history . These illustrate narrative transmission and shared responsibility for water, without copying actual songs, sacred words or legal rules into a fictive religious tradition.

## Automatic Lore Review

**Fits existing canon:** Confluence remains Riverleague capital, Teren Vale its First Speaker, Nine Reeds a ferry cooperative. Red-Silt and Ledger events remain distinct and approximate. The mixed household framework extends rather than erases the prior Oravel lineages. The surviving moon's new regional name is not imposed on all five continents. All stories obey Remanence release, consent and vessel-cost constraints.

**Depth added:** Public records, accounting, emergency transit, a children's festival, family labor, different forms of religious doubt, housing and legal claims create a lived hometown before the main light novel opens.

**Top improvements after this edition:** (1) **Recommended strongest:** independent Moonwake blind-testing records with a negative control and accounting for the burden on an Accord's vessel. (2) A formally dated census-in-dispute with named witnesses and no fixed race percentages. (3) A location appendix linking each Willowbank district label to seasonal flood accessibility, repair crews and alternate walking routes. None should change the approved images or disclose author-only MC secrets without approval.
