01 / A PLACE TO RETURN TO

Where the Aven keeps its promises.

Willowbank is a Riverleague town along the Aven, downstream of Confluence and beside approaches to Reedwater Marsh. It thrives on barges, repair yards, bridge lanterns, grain markets, and people who keep public records when the water rises.

Its approved local map names Lantern Square, South Wharf, Ferry Steps, Willow Bridge, Old Lock, Watch Post, Reed Gardens and Riverside Chapel. Beyond them lie the marshward roads.

Canon and evidence. Willowbank's two existing paintings and map are approved visual references. The earlier three tales and river folktale are accepted as in-world literature. The named leaders, detailed households, local elf and dwarf terms, Silver Current customs, and new book narratives are fictional setting extensions. Claims made by narrators do not establish the true identity of the moon's goddess, the cause of a miracle, or the result of an unsolved historical crime.

Our main light novel has not begun. The future protagonist's private development notes are not published here.

Moon and River

Many in Willowbank and Confluence venerate Lunareth, the surviving moon, through the Silver Current tradition of Nayara, the River-Faced Lady. The woman's face reported in the Aven is a recurring witness claim, not a settled metaphysical proof.

The River's People

Humans, Nerathi, Karrin, Cendri and proposed Sylvari elves and Dhorren dwarves share households, jobs and political rights. Ancestry does not dictate magic, virtue, or work.

Public Memory

The Red-Silt Flood, Unbound Ledger Affair and contested ferry accounts give Willowbank its independent past. Not every mystery is a cosmic secret; some are the result of human decisions.

03 / FAITH AND THE FIVE LAWS

The Silver Current.

Local devotees call the surviving moon Lunareth and honor Nayara, whose face some say appears in the moon's reflection on the Aven. It is a widely transmitted Riverleague tradition, not a proof of the goddess's hidden cosmic identity. The missing second moon remains a separate, unresolved part of Avarun's history.

Fortune, not a guarantee

Prayers seek wealth, successful voyages, strength, and the will to make generous use of prosperity. Faith is neither an enforceable loan guarantee nor proof of a family's right to a riverbank.

Moonwake

Some practitioners observe steadier river- or light-aligned Accords under reflected moonlight. The effect remains disputed and does not conjure new energy, erase consent, remove vessel costs, or create an unlimited mana supply.

The absent twin

Twin Lantern Houses continue to remember the vanished moon and goddess. One Silver Current interpretation identifies Nayara as the one who stayed. The missing goddess's fate and any alleged reunion are not established facts.

04 / THE FAMILIES WHO KEEP THE TOWN RUNNING

People, politics and pressures.

These local leadership names and families are newly proposed extensions. Confluence's First Speaker Teren Vale remains the Riverleague's approved regional leader, not Willowbank's mayor.
